Improve the life of your child by improving your career! Come and take a look at which careers might be really good for you based on your interests and talents.  In this session we will guide you in filling out an online career interest inventory. This inventory will pair your interests and talents with careers that match.  Then we will help you do a job search in your area of interest.

Learn about the numerous career pathway educational options available in our district for high school students. NAV102 - Preparing for the University: I Want My Child to go To College!

In this session you will gain an understanding of the requirements for college and university admittance, including the A-G requirements for California UC and CSU universities. You will walk away with a monitoring sheet that will help support your family in staying on track for college!

* Loma Linda Family Development Classes (La Escuelita)

Loma Linda runs a variety of family development classes for families in our district. Come and learn from the leading experts in our area on a variety of topics that will support the healthy development of your family.  

* Plaza Comunitaria: Complete Your Elementary, Middle, High School, or College Degree

These classes are offered for Spanish speakers. Through these classes adults can get their certificates and diplomas from the Mexican school system.  For more information please contact the location nearest you.

*LDR101 - Infant Toddler Success Parenting Program

‍‍‍‍‍‍Give your child a head start to their future from birth! This session is for anyone in our district that has or will soon have children ages 0-3.  It will help parents develop the leadership skills to ensure that their children grow up as healthy and academically prepared as possible.  

*LDR102 - The Parent Project : Dealing With Difficult Children and Teens‍‍‍

The Parent Project is a parenting skills program designed for parents with strong-willed or out-of-control children.

WRK101(A)- Resume: Gathering Information & Creating a Resume

Learn how to create a professional resume that will get you noticed as a potential‍‍‍ candidate. We will go over a step to step process to complete a r‍‍‍esume with work, volunteer, and educational experience.

TECH ‍‍‍101 - Computer Basics

Introduction to computer: Students will learn the difference between Hardware and Software. They will learn about Apple- OSX and Windows- 7 and 10. They will also learn basic computer terminology as well as useful websites. They will take home material to review.

TECH 102 - Learn Important Things the Google System Has to Offer

Learn how to create a Gmail Account. We will go over benefits of having a Gmail account. Provide tips on how to create safe usernames and passwords. They will be taught how to create a Google Doc, how to send emails with attachments, images, pictures, videos and links. How to use Google Maps.

** Note: Teachers prefer communication through email.

TEC 104 - Learn to Type and Use the Keyboard ‍‍‍Correctly

Students will learn: How to properly set both hands on the keyboard and have a better understanding of how to type with both hands. They will receive useful websites to practice from home, along with a list of typing commands.

TECH 105 - Learn about SmartPhone Applications

Students will learn: How to download applications onto their phone. They will also learn about apps they may download for daily use. We will go over how they could pay bills from there phones, check email etc.

TEC 106 - Navigating the Web: Learn How to Use This Powerful Resource for Your Benefit!

Students will learn:  How to search the web. How to correctly look up websites and navigate through them safely. Provide them with useful resources, such as; how to connect to wifi, how they can get free wifi. They will review what’s been taught throughout the classes.‍‍‍

NAV104 - Adult English Classes: CBET / ESL

There are several programs that offer English Classes for adults in our areas. These are free to anyone who would like to take them. Please click on the links below, or visit the w‍‍‍eb page to see the most up to date schedule of locations and times.

NAV105 - Dream Act Application Workshops

Join our step to step application workshop to help students fill out the Dream Act Application. We will go over common mistakes and answer questions aboutt the application process. What should you bring? Most current parent's tax Return, Student's 2015 Federal Income Tax, Parent's social security number or ITIN number, and parent(s) date of birth.

WRK103 - Preparing for an Inverview Workshop

Learn how to prepare for an interview by completing a pre-interview research worksheet. In this session you will learn about the purpose of doing your research before and interview and you will receive tips to stand out in your interview.

 

TECH 107 - Microsoft Word & Google Docs

Students will learn:  How to use programs/applications such as word and docs to create important documents such as essays, resume, invitations etc. Learning how to use this tools will help families in their homes, at school and with their children.

TECH 108 - Microsoft Porwerpoint & Google‍‍‍ Slides

Students will learn:  How to create a presentation with the use of powerpoint or slides. Learn the functions on how to design,  navigate and present an effective presentation.

 

TECH 109 - Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets

Students will learn:  How to use the excel program to create spreadsheets. How to use the powerful tools in Excel for organizing, visualizing, and calculating your data.

TECH 110 - Email Etiquette

Students will learn:  How to properly write an email using different strategies for using email safely. Learn about writing effective emails using good email etiquette, both for personal use and in the workplace.

TECH 111 - Social Networking

Students will learn:  How social media can be used: staying in touch with friends, family, and keeping up with trending topics and news. Knowing how to use social media is an essential 21st century skill.‍‍‍
