‍‍‍Overview:

The primary mission of the San Bernardino City Unified School District is to provide academic instruction sufficient to develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding required to promote personal development to the fullest extent of the individual's potential.  Assisting students to recognize and capitalize on the promise embodied in their attained skills, knowledge, and understanding is the mission of the College/Career Development Program.   Aligned with the National Career Development Guidelines, and the Labor Secretary's Commission on the Achievement of Necessary Skills (SCANS), the College and Career Readiness Program is organized around three broad areas: self-knowledge, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. Each area is addressed through a myriad of courses offered in the Career/Technical and Regional Occupational Programs, and the District's Four Year College/Career Development Plan, in which each district student participates during visits to the College/Career Center located on each high school campus.
